Annoyance 1:

When clicking on some links on the site, I get this …

Annoyance 2:

I am still getting this error thrown up (as I did with the previous version), despite transferring all the version 5.0.1 files across to the server. Is it possible that there is a '_custom' file from the previous version overriding the latest, and if so what could it be?

FIXED - (accidently):
Re-reading my post I decided that it was incumbent on me to check the '_custom' files on my server, and I found a culprit, form_templates.php, that I had snatched in haste when it was offered as a temporary 'fix' to another forum user!

Annoyance 3:

I am hesitant to post this, but will mention it just in case somebody else is/may/will suffer from this irritation, and if possible for somebody with a smarter take on things being able to home in on a fix. It is the delay in the Editarea script being actioned on MY computer, using FF 3.6.8! I can get it to run without a hitch on the laptop (almost identical setup), so it is obviously a one-off problem affecting only me. No rude remarks, please …

Any help greatly appreciated!

 :(

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

1- we'll need to filter this out. Browsers throw some really random errors sometimes, especially when changing pages, and ocPortal catches such things to try and make bugs easier to debug.

3- Did you see I posted a jing video to your topic on how you yourself could make a jing video to help us diagnose it :)?

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.

1 & 3 - Understand the necessity, and will make a vid.

Ermmmmm - I assume there wasn't a '2'?

  ROTFLMAO  :'(

1 - Assume you will be looking at this one?

3 - Started the vid, but gave up in disgust. Can't capture the whole of the 'mouseover' profile and still make it readable, so will attack it from a different angle.

Thanks. Will take it for a run.

If there are probs I shall do a follow-up. If everything works without a hitch, I won't comment further (except to add a 'RESOLVED' to the post header)!

Take my advice. I'm not using it!
