Hi all,
While trying to un-install a few addons, I get this error:
Cannot add xxxx/xxxx/xxxx/xxxx to the archive twice. Archives need to be completely rebuilt to replace a file.
(xxxx = depends on which addon I was trying to un-install.)

If I try a bulk un-install I don't get this error, but going back to the addon list, those addons are still there.

So, I guess what I need to know is, how do I rebuild the archives, and why does this happen?

Thanks!

Steve

I think this problem has been reported elsewhere too (but from a different angle). We just did some testing and I think we have already fixed it for 7.1.1.

Excellent! Any projected release date? Or a work-around for for the bug?

It may be the 29th ('tomorrow' for me except it is 2am here so technically it is 'today'). If not, at least by the end of the weekend.

I think I read a memo saying he would sleep only after ocPortal is bug free and every website is using it.  O_o

We tend to just plug him into the mains.

So I was right before - he is an automaton.

Honestly, the support and development for ocPortal is excellent. Kudos to all of you.

So, that's where the Disney automaton escapee disappeared to.

I agree, ocPortal support and dev is great! And, as I'm learning, so are the other members on here.

I think he's trying to wrap up 7.1.1 for release in the next few days.

Just a follow up…

I just finished upgrading to 7.1.1. The un-install errors are gone! But, unfortunately, the un-install didn't work (bulk or single).  :'(

How can I verify that these addons are actually there? And if not there, how can I manually remove the entry to reflect the actual condition?

I think I we have another bug…

Using the check boxes and uninstall button, uninstalling does not work. Uninstalling individually by using the red X does work.

Okay, sounds like you are no longer blocked by this. I just did a test and found two issues:
  • The authors addon counts authors in the admin menus, and complains if the table is missing (7.1.1 was meant to make it less sensitive – but we accidentally missed it for the authors addon).
  • There's a bug where modules in the 'site' zone don't auto-install with the install of the addon if the "Single public zone" option is on.
These issues worked together to make re-adding the authors addon problematic.
Regarding problems uninstalling, that could be due to some previous corruption of the packages in earlier bugs so if it's no longer an issue for you we'll ignore that.

In an unrelated problem, I screwed a few things up and did a clean install yesterday.

In the next few days I'll visit the addon page and try a few installs and uninstalls, both bulk and individual, and report back since I now have a clean slate to work with.

Thanks, Chris, for the feedback!
