I'm developing a standalone mini-app which I have integrated into ocPortal with custom comcode tags and custom javascript. Its currently living in the /data/myapp directory so that it will be picked up when I do cpanel backups of ocPortal.

Everything has integrated fine except for the apps test page at /data/myapp/test.htm. When I try and access it I get a "The requested page (data) is missing. ". I know this is because ocPortal has not been told about my page, so I thought that adding a transparent redirect would do the trick, but there is no option to redirect from/to a non-zoned page.

Short of manually going into the .htaccess file, can this be done?

My preferred option would be that the page is loadable within a specified zone (mainly to be able to make use of the zone security), but even just being able to access the page as-is would be fine.

I haven't done much of what you are up to temp1024, so unfortunately I can't help much. You may want to explore the pages directory for storage, particularly the html_custom and minimodules_custom directories.

Someone more knowledgeable in this area will hopefully chime in.

Thanks for the suggestion SoccerDad, but as I suspected, I still get the same type of error, but this time "The requested page (pages) is missing.".

A problem with ocPortal new-style short URLs is that they can match unintended things. It thinks you have a page in the welcome zone called 'data' and trying to call up the equivalent of index.php?page=data&type=myapp&id=test

You'll need to add a rule to the htaccess that takes precedence over the existing rewrite rules in there.

That's a shame. In that case, can I add a feature request where you can add a redirect for pages that are outside of zones, and/or an updated "add page" feature that lets you include pre-existing non-ocPortal pages inside an ocPortal site, so that existing web pages can be integrated with minimal effort, and without the need to import them into ocPortal.

Would it work for your app temp1024 if you put the content in a comcode page wrapped in

Code

tags?

There is support for uploading to <zone>/pages/html_custom/EN
ocPortal will then interpret them a bit (i.e. merge <head> sections).

I'm sure I can easily reproduce it within the tags, but is more a question of should I really have to.

All the hard work was done when I created my custom comcode tag and accompanying changes to JAVASCRIPT_CUSTOM_GLOBALS.tpl (I say hard work because what worked in my standalone "no external stylesheet" implementation needed rework in the multi stylesheet ocPortal environment).

The test html page is just a couple of dropdown boxes and a textarea to drive some interactive tests.

Another very simple solution is to make them .html files not .htm files.

.html works fine for me Chris, thanks.

I'll keep the uploading option in mind for the future.
