I can't put my finger on it precisely, but I remember that I commented in an earlier post that the 'preview' page for a News post didn't display the 'News summary' part when previewed.

My reason for the observation was because, when I construct a 'News' item for my site, the 'summary' bit that appears on the front page is slightly different from the main article, and I wished to see how it was being displayed.

Chris assured that it would be reintroduced in a future version (or upgrade), and indeed that is so!

BUT …

As can be seen clearly, that section only shows the raw COMCODE/HTML, but doesn't render it at all. Can this behaviour be reversed, please?

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Greetings Fletch!
I keep marveling at your “bits” of attachments in these forums which always helps carry your messages in a stylish and precise way. You once indicated to me the name of an editor, which I carelessly lost. Or, is it that your mastery of Photoshop has reached enviable heights?

Snagit

From the same stable (TechSmith) that Camtasia and Jing come from. Extremely versatile for screen captures, and the ability to convert and present them in various, eye-catching ways.

I am not connected to the company in way, but I don't have a problem recommending this proggy. Been using it for years.
