When editing a template, if I press "Save and stay" a new window is opened, unlike editing a CSS where pressing "Save and stay" stays and just pops-up a confirmation window.

The latter is of course the expected behaviour.

Do you have a Samsung Galaxy S / Galaxy S II ? If so, why not check out my ScreenFree FM Radio .

Concur that behaviour.

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

I'm at a loss with this one. I've tried on 3 machines here on Firefox (which I see you both use), and it seems to work fine. I made one minor change to the template just in case.

What it does is it submits the form to a hidden iframe, which in turn shows the Javascript done message

I could see it opening a new window if iframes were disabled on your sites, but that would make it happen on the CSS editor too.

I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Ah, maybe a timing issue then. All I did was rearrange some code so the form's target change happened sooner.
