  • Trying to install a fresh version of 7.1.4 manually
  • All files FTP'd to brand new directory
  • New DB created using phpMyAdmin
  • Unable to get past Step-3

Perhaps the error message I get right from the 'get-go' has something to do with it. Cannot find the referenced 'file' anywhere. Any pointers as to how to rectify this would be very welcome.

What exactly happens to stop you getting past step 3?

(This error here is inconsequential, although I thought it was fixed)

ocPortal installer: step 3 of 10

An error has occurred

PHP [1] Call to a member function get_theme() on a non-object

Here is the stack trace:

Below is a stack trace revealing the state the software was in when the error occurred. If this represents a bug in the unmodified software, you may want to check ocPortal website for a fix, and if there isn't one, report this as a bug. Please note that merely posting a stack trace is not sufficient for us to solve your problem; the stack trace is just an aid that presents us with additional information. We still need to know the error message, what you tried to do, how you tried to do it, version numbers, and any other appropriate information.
We apologise for this problem and if it's a bug we hope you will work with us so that we can fix it for you promptly.

Hmm, these are the two problems one of our distribution partners found and I fixed. Did you download the manual package just now, or immediately after release?

  • downloaded the data.ocp version
  • FTP'd it to server
  • Ran 'install'
  • Got an error message that listed a whole bunch of files as 'missing'
  • Closer inspection showed that the WHOLE 'cms' folder was missing (Bummer! How did I miss that?)
  • Installation successful
