This error when trying to add an IOTD. Manually emptying the templates cache via FTP, or using ocP Tools,  doesn't fix the issue …

Clicking 'OK', dismisses the error popup and allows me to continue to add a title and caption and to successfully upload the image.

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

Please try reinstalling the Aviary addon, by reimporting it from our site. It might have been fixed already (nothing changed here in 6.1, and I can't reproduce or see how it could happen).

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Ah, the much-maligned Aviary!

Tried to uninstall it, but that didn't work. Tried to reinstall it, but that didn't work either! So, deleted it.

Problem continued.

Closer inspection of JAVASCRIPT_SWFUPLOAD.tpl showed that on older override (probably a previous running-fix to a user's problems) was lodged in my custom_themes folder. Deleted that and allowed the latest version to get called, and the problem has gone away.

Will probably leave Aviary 'off' as I wasn't using it much. It did EXACTLY what was expected 'out-of-the-box', and I can recommend it to anybody that doesn't have a powerful image editing programme on their own computer.
