Well-settled

I've noticed that if the member name is beyond a certain number of characters in length, the area for the member name in the forum posts does not resize, and the end gets cut off by the text box adjacent to it. Is there a way to accomodate longer user names in this instance?

Also, is there a way to set a maximum number of characters users may have for an identity?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

1) Edit the OCF_TOPIC_WRAP template. The width is in one of the 'col' tags there.

2) IIRC it's one of the options in the configuration.

  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Chris thanks, that works perfectly.

I had forgotten about user id length control being in configuration…very handy feature.

Fan in action

Was looking for that…

Is there a way to take out the "welcome back," part only from the member's name area?
(Without affecting the welcome zone)

& edit "Primary usergroup:" to for instance "Generation:" or "Class of:"?

Good Wishes!
