Instead of creating three separate topics like I had before the unknown crash (?), I'll save the space and post them all together.

1. Calendar
When viewing the Calendar by month, you get the category image and an (R) for recurring event I am guessing. What I would like to do is replace the (R) with the event's text.

2. Polls
Anyone know which file the NO_ENTRIES is found? For blocks that don't have any entries, I have found the script that calls the language file for NO_ENTRIES but I can't for the polls. I tried POLLS.tpl and BLOCK_MAIN_POLL_IFRAME.tpl with no such luck. I have went ahead for the time being with the help of friendly and changed the language's section for NO_ENTRIES to fit my no poll entries text, but I'd like to hardcore enter it like my other blocks.

3. Forums
I've done on a previous 'powered by ocPortal' site, but my brain isn't functioning to remember. I'd like to remove the top menu bar with the "Forums, Rules, Members, Usergroups, Unread, Recommend" links.
Any help on these three would be grateful! :thumbs:

I answered you yesterday already, but it got lost like your questions.

2.
if its not in any Poll template, it might be just the Poll.php calling the block_no_entires template.
3.
It's actually a Comcode Page: "Panel_Top" but beware if you delete/modify it, there multiple Panel_Tops for different spots, be sure to modify the right one.

3. Forums
Solved!
Those who wish to know… you can delete

Code

[block="_community" type="top"]side_stored_menu[/block]
From the panel_top comcode page.

Thanks alex!

"I've created a recurring event for each Wed and Sun. Is there a way to remove the (R) and replace it with the event's text?"

I think you just edit the CALENDAR_MONTH_ENTRY template. It has the event title there already but as a title for the event icon. The R is 'REPEAT_SUFFIX'.

Should be possible to just move {TITLE*} outside the title attribute and remove REPEAT_SUFFIX.

"What file do I need to edit to remove the forums sub menu (Forums, Rules, Members, Usergroups, Unread, Recommend)?"

panel_top page

"I've been able to change a few blocks text that have no content to something else other than the default "There are no entries at this time". However, I cannot find where the polls block is calling it.

I tried POLL.tpl and BLOCK_MAIN_POLL_IFRAME.tpl.

Am I missing it somewhere else or just didn't see it in either of these two files?"

BLOCK_NO_ENTRIES template. It's given a _GUID of fdc85bb2e14bdf00830347e52f25cdac so you can write code like..

Code

{+START,IF,{$EQ,{_GUID},fdc85bb2e14bdf00830347e52f25cdac}}
...
{+END}
{+START,IF,{$NEQ,{_GUID},fdc85bb2e14bdf00830347e52f25cdac}}
...
{+END}
To make customisations specific to the poll block.

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
