I'm not sure what's happening there. We get dozen of reports each day from many different sites (mostly, these are reports of old bugs on sites that haven't been upgraded), so I don't think anything's wrong at our end.

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

I didn't receive any mail on there for some reason, but I ran my own test from gmail and I did. What was the 'from' address for the mail you sent? (I can then check the logs to see if it was rejected)

There's nothing in the logs.  What is the server it went through?

Umm... that certainly took me by surprise ;). I was expecting the hostname or IP of your outgoing mail server, so I could see if our server logs were revealing anything about that.

Thanks for your persistence Philip. I've had a closer look, and our mail server was being too slow for some other servers to send to it. I've found out the problem and fixed it.
