I want to remove the "Welcome to" from the greeting and site name on the front page. I looked in the global language file and found the entry for 'Welcome to' and blanked it out. However, upon saving, the "Welcome to" text is always replaced. How can I empty this field?

Thanks for any help.

Bottom of page Edit page

Remove …

Code

[title="1"]Welcome to {$SITE_NAME}[/title]

That should fix it for you.

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

Thanks, Fletch.

I had tried changing that in the language file and felt like I was beating my head against the wall. Never even occurred to me to check the page's code.

I'm in one of those "let's tie up all the loose ends frenzies" and too many things are being uncooperative (my way of defensively saying I'm an idiot when it comes to this coding stuff). I thought I would have caught on by now but this project is just a bit overwhelming at times.

And what will you do with your time (the time that you spend sorting out the site) if you ever get to the point that the task is complete?

Naaaaah! Keep chipping away, and one fine day it will dawn on you that you need to find another project!

I don't think this site will be complete for at least another six months - maybe more - as I am sitting on a lot of unpublished information and I just got off the phone with Julian's son a bit ago and he says he has forgot to send me a bunch of pictures which will be arriving soon.

But I have thought about what I might do and the answer is to buy a really nice DSLR and a few prime lenses and then get to work on a photography project. In spite of being a partner in a digital imaging business in the early 1990s and working with a lot of the top-name photographers on the West Coast of the US, I have never owned a serious camera. I think now may be the time.
