Now I have a few FTP-related issues

I had the system hosted on one server, moved it to another, and everything was successful, except I get FTP errors when trying to do things that relate to FTP. For example, two problems I'm having at the moment:

  • I cannot delete Comcode pages. I get this error:

WARNING [2] ftp_delete() [function.ftp-delete]: Could not delete /public_html//pages/comcode_custom/EN/alcatraz.txt: No such file or directory

  • I cannot add zones. First time I tried adding a zone, I got an error saying something about 'cannot open port <some_port>, timed out' (didn't catch the first error in detail, unfortunately). The second time I got this error:

WARNING [2] ftp_mkdir() [function.ftp-mkdir]: Can't create directory: File exists

Whatever the heck that's supposed to mean… :P

Hi Joe!

Sounds like some sort of pathing and/or permissions issue on the host server. Can you login with an FTP client? If so, that may give you some clues.

Path issues, must be because you can see the duplicate slash in the error after public_html.

But, there's no path setting to configure for ocPortal…

Without actually seeing your host and structure, one thing to keep in mind:
Hosting environs can be configured in a couple of ways that will impact any ftp pathing. If the server is configured to chroot the users, then the absolute path would change from something like:
/home/user/public_html
to
/

Basically, with an FTP client, you can log in and see where the server (pathwise) is dumping you. Then, when using the Abstract FTP in OCP, you can make the changes to reflect this.

Additionally, the document root for the webserver may NOT be the same location where you are dumped when logging in with FTP.

Does your host provide SSH access? Always a good thing if they do

How do I get the abstract thing to come up? Usually it only comes up while deleting a zone (which I can't test because I can't delete any zones. I would create another zone and then delete it to get to the abstract thing, but then again that's the problem - creating a zone).

Now that's a bit of a puzzler Joe. I have my own server, so I don't require the FTP component for zone manipulation, etc. however, I'm prompted for it (Abstract FTP) each and every time. Is it  possible your installation was/is damaged somehow? You should also get the prompt when you create a new zone. Hmm, kinda stumped on this one. We may have to wait to see if anyone else has a suggestion.

Please take a look in your ocp2_values table. I think you saved your FTP details, and they're stored in here.
