Moving forward with Composr

Fan in action

I am running ocPortal on my website since June.
Now i recognized a bug or a not completly implemented feature:

When you edit a post you can enter a reason for the edit.
But that reason will never be shown on any page.
Neither in the history nor in the marking.
Even in the database i could not find the text i entered in that field.

Should show up in Action Log.

Admin Zone > Usage > Action Log
then find a forum action and click the date to view it's full details.

I haven't tested for a very long time, but I have just confirmed this is what the code intends to do. It's stored in the 'f_moderator_logs' table.

Become a fan of ocPortal on Facebook or add me as a friend. Add me on on Twitter.
Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Not to hijack this thread…

Is there an easy way to clean out/prune the Action Log? (or any log for that matter)

Thanks Chris,

you are right.
In the database i missed my entries since i have used umlauts in the reason and they are stored in a different coding (รถ instead of ๖.)

Is it possible to easily change the templates for an edited posting to show the reason also?
I have't fiddled with templates so far.
