Why are "Random quotes" in the Style menu in the Admin area instead of content. Seems to me they are content and should be placed there. I thought they were missing until I checked the Docs.

If you are using the quotes for the feel like the default ones, it kind of is style. If testimonials, no I agree definitely not. The real answer is that the Content menu is already huge and that the quotes feature isn't a regular content managed system in that it's just a text file and managed from the Admin Zone. I completely see your point though.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

I figured that thereon likely had to do with the sizeof the content menu. Nut I think quotes, regardless of how used, are definitely content without regard to how the data is stored.

I confidently headed to the content menu and was surprised to find"Random quotes" missing so I headed to add-ons to make sure the add-on was installed. I then needed to look through the documentation and was surprised to find them in the Style menu. Even the Tools menu makes more sense to me. But I personally think you should put them in the Content menu which is where I strongly believe it belongs (regardless of the menu length).
