Hi Folks,

I've never really focused on the chat system until I reinstalled it recently and discovered that I do have a few members that are interested in using it.

I seem to remember back-in-the-day when I first installed the site that a pop-out message would be presented if someone wanted to chat, for the life of me, I can't workout how to get this working again.

I do have site-wide IM enabled in the configuration and I do not have any pop-up blockers enabled. I do however get the PM but this is dependent on me refreshing the screen to know someone is requesting a chat.

So, question 1, how do I get the pop-out to function.

I would love to hear form anyone that is using ocP Chat to good effect and maybe help me overcome my current issue.

TQ

EDIT: I have removed the question about Freichat as I wrote it with information from memory which I now know was incorrect.

Maybe you've edited your GLOBAL_HTML_WRAP.tpl template to not include {+START,IF,{$EQ,{$CONFIG_OPTION,sitewide_im},1}}{$CHAT_IM}{+END}, which is necessary for it to run.

I can't find any evidence of this there when I look at your site, although you could have disabled the option again.

As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying Composr on fun personal projects.

Hi Chris,

It appears to be intact but it is a custom template so I'll do a comparison with the original and see if I've done something else to disrupt things.

Many thanks
