Problem in the emails

When a user signs up for a custom product in the Point-Store, the Admin is obviously sent an email informing them of the purchase. However, there seems to be a boo-boo in the email. I'll quote an email I received when I was testing things out:

Premium Web-Hosting - Webmaster Plan has ordered the Premium Web-Hosting - Webmaster Plan product, and spent the necessary points. Please do whatever you need to do to deliver it.

color red = Name of the user to whom in which is signing up for this product
color blue = Name of the custom product in the Point-Store.

Therefore, the email should say:

Joe has ordered the Premium Web-Hosting - Webmaster Plan product, and spent the necessary points. Please do whatever you need to do to deliver it.

How do I fix? Thanks.

I think we fixed this one. Are you running the latest version?

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

I upgraded to the latest version and purchased a custom item in the Point-Store, and I'm still receiving emails exactly as above. :/

Also, I don't think this was fixed. I would assume someone would've also noticed the spelling mistake when purchasing custom items.

You have successfully placed your ordered. Thank you.

I'll have to fix that too.

Sorry about this. We'd fixed a similar bug, but not this one.
Both problems here will be fixed in the next patch release, which will be out very soon now.

I upgraded to the latest version and the problem is still there. :/

If the change is located somewhere in the theme templates, please understand I have a heavily modified version of ocPortal (theme-wise) and cannot overwrite any templates. Can you give me specific instructions on how to fix this manually? Thanks.

I think you probably have the pointstore language file overrided. MAIL_REQUEST_CUSTOM_BODY used to start {1}, but now starts {2}.

I'm a bit confused over your previous post. Here's what the pointstore.ini file says:

MAIL_REQUEST_CUSTOM_BODY={2} has ordered the {1} product, and spent the necessary points. Please do whatever you need to do to deliver it.

I've just tested this, and it is working in the patch release you upgraded to. The language string you pulled out is as it should be.
The only thing I can think of that could be wrong was if you also have a lang_custom/EN/pointstore.ini file that is out-of-date, or if the language cache was never cleared after upgrading.

Chris, is there a way to add fields to the products in the Point-Store? For example, for this web hosting product, I'd need to be able to ask the purchaser for information pertaining to their account setup (domain name, email, MySQL DB name, etc) which will be included in the email I receive informing me that someone has purchased the item.

Currently there's no way to do that, no.
