I had added a signature to my profile for OCF. When I try to edit anything in my profile now, I get this error and can't continue.

Code

This one should be fixed in 9.0.4, I noticed you're running an old version. Basically you got some invalid HTML into the system and we have since made it so ocPortal can tolerate that.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Sorry Chris. I should have mentioned that it is for another ocPortal site of mine. That is running 9.0.4.

Yes, I can see now this is a case of the validator not picking up on a particular case of invalid XML. (non-alphanumeric attribute name)

Try this:
Attachment
sources/validation.php
» Download: validation.php (40 Kb, 101 downloads so far)
