Help changing the Background colour...

Hi All, Sorry for being a complete NOOB but hey, we have to start somewhere...

My team are theming my site, (mynightmap.com) and we are  having a problem finding how to change the background colour of the profile box & tabs..

Ultimately I would prefer to have a semi transparent image (which i have waiting) however a colour change would help greatly.

 All help is appreciated and thanks in advance

Hi GavMac,

You have to be a bit more specific about what you mean by "Profile box". An image would be useful to identify the area you wish to modify. As for the tabs, it is an image that can easily me changed. Follow the instructions on the attached image.

Shot in the dark, Gav, as I'm not 100% certain what you are referring to, but I think …
global.css
.tab_surround
… is what you want.

With the background activated:

and without …

If this is what you're going after, then use your browser's dev tool to isolate the CSS property, and then change it to your satisfaction. Adding your own transparent image would be a simple matter of adding a background-image to the same CSS rule.

Hope that helps.

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

Gav,

Logged in and checked the 'Profile' page. My suggestion above is still relevant (t'was a good guess!), as I did the same thing to your page as I did to mine.

Two screencaps follow, one has your current background still showing, and in the other I've removed it. The image is my 'test-fairy' and I haven't bothered to 'size' or 'no-repeat' or anything fancy so that you get an idea of what area will be covered by your own graphic.

With the background:

Without:

Now you know where to start working on the display.

Good luck.

This really isn't in my comfort zone so I will let somebody else step in and answer. I have one of the latest Android devices, but I get peeved with it when it tries to do anything OTHER than make or receive calls!

Actually, it would have been better to have raised this as a fresh thread.

Hope your luck holds out.
