During the setup wizard I chose to have separate zone logos.  After setting up and adding extra zones, I went to Structure / Zones / Edit Zones to upload different logos for my new zones.  I was able to do that for the first zone, but afterwards the other zones only show a choice to add a logo for the defalut theme and the new site theme.  Am I missing something soe where?

Hi,

I'm a bit lost, that sounds like it is working correctly.

You go through each zone, and for each zone, you can choose a logo for each theme.

One of us is missing something, lol.

Ok, lol .. after reading my post I can see it is a little confusing.  Sorry about that, it's still early morning here and not enough coffee..

I set up extra zones.  Chip, Tracy, Kristin, just for example.  That gave me, Welcome/Site Zone, Admin Zone, CMS Zone, Chip Zone, Tracy Zone and finally Kristin Zone.  I then went to "Admin Zone / Style / Theme / Manage Theme Image for my "Chip & Tracy's Place - (Welcome/Site)" theme and change the Logo Logo image to our main site logo.

I then went to "Admin Zone / Structure / Zones / Edit Zone," and chose the "Chip" zone.  In there was the option to upload a logo for the Chip Zone, Chip & Tracy's Place theme and the Default theme.  I chose to upload a logo for the Chip zone and it went off with out a hitch.  But then I went back to "Edit Zone" and chose the "Tracy" zone and all that is in there is the choice to change the log for "Chip & Tracy's Place" theme and the default theme, but no choice to change the log for the "Tracy" zone.

Does that explain it better?

Yeah, I think you're getting mixed up.

With zone logos, each zone can have its own logo. And each theme has its own set of logos.

So when you edit a zone, it lets you set the logo for that zone for each theme. If you're editing the Tracy zone, it is implied that the logo choices on there will only be applied to that zone.

I think you're thinking of it that you can set logos for zones and also logos for themes, but it's not like that. Think of it like a 2 dimensional grid, you have zone, and you have theme, and each cell in the grid can be specified. When you edit a zone you are choosing to edit the row of the grid for that zone, and hence can specify the logo for each theme.

Ok, I think I'm starting to understand.  So let's say I had a small logo that I want to use for our main site zone and the theme I'm using for our main site is called Chip & Tracy's Place.  I change the logo for it by going to "Admin Zone / Style / Theme / and change the logo logo image for the Chip & Tracy's theme.  However if I want a different logo to show for my Chip Zone, which is for my music act, I wouyld need to create a new theme and set the logo for that them and then assign it to the Chip Zone.  Is that correct?  If so, then what does setting "Zone Logos" in the setup wizard do?.

Nope.

You said…

But then I went back to "Edit Zone" and chose the "Tracy" zone and all that is in there is the choice to change the logo for "Chip & Tracy's Place" theme and the default theme, but no choice to change the logo for the "Tracy" zone.

If you go to edit the tracy zone, you're only editing logos for the tracy zone. So the multiple logo choices are for each theme that tracy zone might possibly ever be viewed with. You wouldn't expect to see a choice for the tracy zone itself when editing the trace zone, that's implied.

There's never a need to go to "Admin Zone / Style / Theme" to change logos, although you can if you wish. It's just an inferior way of editing zone logos – editing zones is what you want to do to change the zone logos.

Ok, gotcha.  I'm a little slow sometimes.  I think I have it now.  The software is actually smarter than I was thinking.  It already knows that I'm editing the Tracy Zone therefore there's no need for an option for the zone logo.  So when I'm changing the options for the Tracy Zone, and it has the Logo options for the Chip & Tracy's Place Theme and the Default theme, it isn't changing the logo site wide, but is changing the logo that is used in the Tracy Zone for each theme that may be used.  Is that correct?
