How can it only counts when admin posts

I've another question about the forum,

When a topic is running you see 2 counters : "Posts" and "Views".

I guess when someone replies the counter "Posts" should go up by 1, but it only goes up when a admin posts?? Other post are NOT counted??

The "views" Counter works correctly and adds 1 per view!!

thnx

Jurgen

It's the number of validated posts. So if members don't have permission to post without you validating those posts (approving them), those posts won't count toward the tally until you have validated.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Please see the section 'Setting bypass-validation access' of our forums tutorial.
