Avatars and others

I did a conversion of my old YaBB forum into OCF (it wasnt very easy - had to convert it to SMF and phpBB3 first,)
And the most glaring problem i have at the moment, are avatars - the old forum was accepting and shrinking large images for avatars, after the conversions, the avatars show in their original size, obviously messing everything up.
Is there a way to shrink them? via the forum CSS perhaps?

Another issue (more relevant to themeing, i guess) is user group rank images, ive reordered the usergroup per the ranking, but the ranks show under the members name and title, not per the rank ladder, but according to the order the member was put in the usergroups…

Hi,

Please try the following…

Edit the sources/ocf_groups.php file and after:

Code

function ocf_get_members_groups($member_id=NULL,$skip_secret=false,$ordered=false,$handle_probation=false)
{
add this line:

Code

   $ordered=true;

I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.

I should add that line, or modify that value in first quoted line?

No effect, i still get the ranks per entry order, rather than set order
Oh and the issue with the avatars solved, it was indeed in the forum css.

Also is it possible to arrange the rank images horizontally?

Hi,

I can't help with themeing issues outside commercial support I'm afraid, but the ordering is a programming issue and I think it should work as you explained so I'm treating it as a bug report.

However I just tested my change and it does seem to work fine on my end. I added my admin member into two secondary groups and gave those rank images– I observed the order of rank images when viewing the member's forum post, then edited the groups to switch the orders around, and observed the order switch over.

Then i figure im doing something wrong, probably due to my rather shoddy knowledge of php :$

Is this how that piece of code should look like, with the inclusion of your suggestion?

Code

function ocf_get_members_groups($member_id=NULL,$skip_secret=false,$ordered=false,$handle_probation=false)
{
$ordered=true;

if (is_null($member_id)) $member_id=get_member();

Looks fine to me. Screenshots of each usergroup's edit screen, and what you are seeing, would help. Firefox has some useful addons for taking screenshots which will speed things up.

would the usergroup selection screen be good enough? it shows the order ive given to some of the usergroups.

And this is how it looks when a member posts

the patch should be below all the stars, yet its after the SuperMod star… Which actually makes sense since its the proper ID order, but shouldnt the set order number take preference?

Another usergroup relevant question, is how can one remove primary users from a group? because i was transfering from another forum, a large number of members has been made primary users of groups, that they shouldnt be in.

Hi,

You didn't mention what usergroup the patch corresponds to. However, the only usergroup there with a lower order number than the SuperMod one is Administrators and I would guess it does not apply to that.

You'd need to edit the profiles of those members, or run a database query.

oh right.
As per the picture the order (top-down) is
Gold Star= SuperMod
Patch=Warhound
Gold Star= Warhound Officer
Bronze Star= Warhound Recruit

You'd need to edit the profiles of those members, or run a database query.
Thanks!

Ah right, let me amend that list with the order ID's…

Gold Star= SuperMod = order 2
Patch=Warhound = order 6
Gold Star= Warhound Officer = order 3
Bronze Star= Warhound Recruit = order 5

It does look like it's not working doesn't it. I'll have another think in a minute…

I wasn't able to reproduce, but we have made some changes in the code. Please bring this back up if it still happens in the future (in 4.3 RC3 or later).
