Are you trying to install one of the themes from the theme gallery or are you trying to make your own theme?

In the Admin area, go to Structure->Add-ons and scroll to the bottom of the page where it says "Import third-party addon" under Actions.

On the add-ons page, click the "+" sign in front of Themes, select your theme and hit the "Import third-party addon" button.

In the Admin area, go to Style->Themes. Find the theme you want to activate and click the "Edit theme" link. Find the "Actions" area, and tick the box for "Use theme on all zones".

I think that's it.

Go to Structure_>Addons and look for the theme to see if it is installed. If it is not installed, then install it from this page.

Then do as above.

LOL-The little things crack me up. 10:05 and then 10 minutes later lol!

First, Bob posted how to do it. Second, what version of ocPortal are you trying to do this in?

The one "possible" bug I have run into with version 8 and even RC3 is importing themes and them not importing or half importing. If I switch around themes I have a backup I just copy right over the files with, but one time I did notice after installing a them, being 404'ed and then it not showing up but seeing it in my FTP. I will try to import a theme and see if I can reproduce this "possible" issue.

Sorry but have not been able to import a theme and only have production and no local or fun installs of OCP v8xx.xx. If it is not v8 then what I am talking about has nothing to do with this and the OP is just missing something or not doing something.

It has been a week or two since it happened and when it occurred I just worked right around it and blew it off  as just a fluke. When something similar did happen to me it seemed that the incoming theme never install within OCP, but during the installation which never happened, some configuration files from the incoming theme (templates, blocks, modules) did mix in with the existing theme that was being replaced. Then, the theme which I was in the process of replacing either lost or took on configurations of the incoming, which did make its way into the theme directory by the way. Like I said nothing bad happened but you could be left with having to figure this or re-configuring your existing theme which gets tossed around some during the failed import.

It could be even something wrong file perms, bad or missing incoming files.

Well-settled

I'm having issues with RC6 after coming back home to OCPortal. The install went flawlessly but importing an existing PHPBB Forum (small by comparison) from version 3.0.10 stops midway through the import process.

I would like to do a total import of the PHPBB forum that I run but maybe I missed something, or maybe the PHPBB folks changed something on their end ….

Forgot to add that downloaded themes or imports of themes from RC6 are not working as well. Currently running a 'vanilla' OCP 8 (RC6) site which is closed for now, until the site is re-themed and imports from PHPBB 3.0.10 can be done.

Hers is the error message from the PHPBB import attempts:

PHP NOTICE [8] Undefined index: forum_url in sources/hooks/modules/admin_import/phpbb3.php on line 621 (version: 8-RC6, PHP version: 5.3.10, URL: /adminzone/pg/admin_import/import/index.php?session=654354021&importer=phpbb3&keep_safe_mode=1)

You'll need to be more specific on this point.

However, I'm now looking into the phpBB import issue.

This should fix it...

Funnily, in correcting an error in our own terminology, we corrected the same error in phpBB's own database structure which of course is not something we can do.
