Need help figuring out how to convert

Alright, first off I have to confess, although I fell in love with Ocportal just around the time version 8 was released, I went with PHPBB3 while waiting until 9 came out instead. My mistake I know, but bear with me.

Now that OcP 9 is out, I'm ready to make the switch, but my searchfu is failing me on how to convert from PHPbb3 to Ocportal w/Ocforum. There's a method laid out for integrating PHPbb3 into Ocportal, but I don't see anything for transferring the database.

If anybody could point me in the direction of the information I need, I would really appreciate it.

There is an importer built in.

  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Non-joined user

Oh nice, thanks Chris!

Why does the "Switching to OcPortal" tab on the downloads page only mention phpBB2.0 for an importer then? Might want to update that when you guys get the chance.
