I have not really concerned myself with security of my websites in the past because ocPortal takes care of all my needs so far when it comes to security.

Spammers and those types are blocked and non of my or my customers personal info is stored on my sites. I accept pay pal and other safe methods for payment from my customers to protect my own and my clients personal/financial info. I could fully secure my sites and accept payment directly but I would rather focus my attention on creating great websites for my clients and let paypal take care of secure payment for us.

But recently…actually for quite some time now I have wanted to write. My day to day thoughts, life experiences and rants. I really don't want to share most of them. I want a personal journal all my own that one day I may or may not release for the public to read.

So…is unchecking the public option enough? Or is there more steps I can take to lock it down in a vault until I am ready to release it?

Think I may have found a bug while investigating this.

When viewing the calendar, clicking on an event brings me to ad a new event rather than view the one I clicked on.

I just logged out of my site and then checked on the forum. New comment topic created for my last journal entry.

You cant actually follow the link and read it but how do I stop the topic from being created and still have public content topics auto created?

So…is unchecking the public option enou

Should be, but please test it just in case.

When viewing the calendar, clicking on an event brings me to ad a new event rather than view the one I clicked on.

If you click on the icon/link it takes you to the event, if you click on the cell background it invites you to add an event.

You cant actually follow the link and read it but how do I stop the topic from being created and still have public content topics auto created?

Oh I see, because you have turned on automatic comment topic creation. This patch turns off auto-creation of comment topics for non-public events. It will still come up if you comment on it though.

I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.

Definitely sure you uploaded the same file you downloaded, and not some old copy of perhaps sources/calendar.php you had knocking around in your downloads directory?
