I dont want to perform a whole install of the site again, does anyone know what would happen if i move the .zip file to my site and use that as a url to unpackage and install? Does anyone know if the timeout limit that would be on my server would be what is stopping the upgrade.php script from running correctly?

Might I suggest you give someone, even the staff, more than 20 minutes to respond?

I wish I could help you. I always do the upgrades through ocPortal and never had to manually do one… yet.

I am sure there is someone here who will help you out. Just give them time.

upgrader.php is also used for manual upgrades. You simply bypass the bit about uploading a TAR as you've already done that manually.

  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Unfortunately i wasted a whole weekend. I contacted my friend who owns the hosting company - had him lift the execution time to 180 secs. That should be long enough... It was set to 30.
