Hi,

Does any one else get this ?

Now and again a new subscriber to our membership subscription reports that they have not been added to the usergroup. I have solved this by using the manual transaction.

However I would like to get to the bottom of this failure.

I have one at the moment that subscribed at 18:40, the PayPal transaction is fully successful and the yearly recurring subscription has been set up. I can see that the IPN failed and was retried at 20:07 and failed again, apparently PayPal will try 10 times before giving up.

The eCommerce logs have no record of the transaction as you would expect because the IPN has not got through.

Should the retry of the IPN get processed by OCP ? Because it does appear to be at the moment.

Anyone shed any light on this ?

Cheers
Ade

Just to add to that, nothing is blocked by PayPal as another new subscription has been bought at 20:11 successfully.

Debugging this for Lhasadreams

Among many successful signups, 3 failures for Irish names, Forename O'Surname. I doubt that's a coincidence, somewhere there must be some kind of encoding working on that.

Okay, it turns out PHP's Magic Quotes feature was enabled on your server, and this basically caused PayPal's IPN verifier to fail (because PHP alters the data to encode apostrophes as a security feature). I have worked around this.

PayPal does repeat a lot, so this recent transaction should at least finalise on its own now.

It is worth checking the 3 member IDs I gave you manually though.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for burning the midnight oil on this and fixing the issue.

One of those that you pointed out had not had a manual transaction done - so that is sorted now - thanks.

Cheers
