Well-settled

I just went through and read some posts form peoples issues in the last few days and noticed there are fixes for issues some of us have been having. At the end it might not affect all of us at the same time, but maybe we should have one post created or place where all the fixes have been done so we can up load them at once rather then trolling posts LOL.. I know we had that here before for earlier releases.... Slav

Golab,

I've stopped taking the 'fixes' offered to individual members unless I have the time to test the 'fix' immediately, and then revert to the previous if things go bad.

There is still ONE place to go for accumulative fixes for any version, and it is

http://ocportal.com/site/catalogues/index/bugs.htm

and then scroll down for the current version.

I think you will find that 'fixed' bugs that appear there are universal and can be applied by all users …

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

We tend to put the important fixes in the catalogue, if a new patch version isn't imminent.

People really enthusiastic about fixes can also access our subversion repository from the tracker, which tends to be committed-to every couple of weeks.

Generally though we just try to make patch versions reasonably regularly, when enough has been found to justify one.

If you/others want to organise things on the forum, that's cool too :).

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
