I've been looking at the ocPortal software and have a couple of questions:

1. are there examples of websites that use different templates. I've looked at some sites but they all aprear to have the same look?

2. can the catalogues be configured to limit the number of posts. ( looking to allow x posts for membershipA users and y posts for users that are membershipB, etc)

Thanks Steve

I don't think you can limit the number of posts but you can prevent lower level members from posting with attachments and stuff like that (I think)

thanks bewildered - I also saw where you can lengthen the posts time before archive, but what I'm looking at trying to do is:

have 3 types of user:

Not Registered (can post in some anonymous forums)

Registered (can post in forums and catalogues but limited to the number of posts as well as length of time)

Paid Registered Member (can post in forums and catalogues but not limited )

thanks

Well-settled

I would say use the Super-member group, just don't make it "Promotable". When someone pays, move them to that group, or make another group of your choosing.

as for your first question, here are some various looks I found using google search:

SimStreet - SimStreet  (most creative I've seen so far)

Communiqués @ Calderdale-Online - Welcome to Communiqués @ Calderdale-Online

ianglenn.com - Welcome to ianglenn.com

there are also two sites I found that say they have ocportal themes you can download, but I can't seem to access the themes to see if they have any
it's pretty customizeable so you can make it look however you'd like :)

The first one is very nice looking.

I run http://otakuplayground.com and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.
