I didn't find the right place to post Issues for the new Version, so i hope it's ok if i create this Thread and will Update it if i encounter other strange things/issues.

  • I had a Notes block in the Adminzone:start comcode Page. The block just disappeared after the update. At the Block Construction Assistant it was told that the block is used at Adminzone:start but the Code wasn't at the Comcodepage. I have other Blocks there too, which didn't disappear. I recreated the Block and my notes appeared in the New Block.

Hi,

Yes, we changed the admin zone front page. What you did to retrieve your notes was spot on.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Aight, I've just been curious because all other custom Blocks were still on that ComcodePage and was told the notes were there too.

Well, i got a bit worse Problem which probably isn't straight related to v5.0.

My Zones "Site" and "Chat" just display a White Screen/Page doesn't get loaded. I think i know the reason for this: I had have a Custom main_recent_downloads.php (used on Site Zone) and chat.php. I deleted these files, reuploaded the new ones and cleared all caches multiple times. Still same :'( I guess I'm just overlooking something Important, would be realy nice if someone could open my Eyes :)

I managed to fix that Problem, unlike the last 3 Days, today the Site first displayed me an Error and Stacktrack pointing out that the Problem is another PHP file, a custom miniblock i created. I deleted it for now what fixed it.

Btw. how does the Template Preview work? It's probably quite dumb but i don't understand how this new feature works.

It turns out the add block wizard checks both overridden and original versions of Comcode pages for usage. I think that's a bit silly, so now it will only check overridden versions. I'm not sure how that relates to your problem exactly, but I doubt there's a second bug.

Template previews…

Just edit a template and click preview.

Or on the manage themes screen there's a link for each theme to do screen previews for that theme.

Thank you very much for your Response :)

I seriously thought I'm in need of glasses because i couldn't find any Preview button… Well, it's just because i always used a direct link to my theme templates and only worked on templates i had edited already - on these there's just no Preview Button - i guess that's how its Supposed to be.

It's just a small Issue, and i can't say if its related to 5.0 or not, but i don't know a better place to post.

If you expand/collapse the Quick reply with the recent version of firefox, it shows/ leaves Scrollbars behind.

Fixed.
I encounter now similar Problems (Entry: Problem restoring templates - ocPortal.com) as i had have with 4.3. Might be related to your fix to the Preview Button Bug.

*Edit*

Ugh, i just came up with another Error. When i try to download an Addon using the ocPortal AddonManger i get the following Error:

Expand: Error Error

*edit*
There seem to be a Bug with the new Ajax Rating. If i rate 5 Stars, it shows only 3 Stars. In the Database the value is "5", ratings i made before the Updated and still display 5 Stars got a value of "10"

HTTP_FILENAME error – could you have an old sources/files2.php?

Template editing error – I could not reproduce. Perhaps you could do a jing video to demonstrate, or describe click by click.
