Hi,

What browser are you using, and how many seconds after clicking through was it till that message appeared?

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.

It sounds like your web hosting is forcibly timing-out the installer. I think this is the point where it is copying files, so you could try reducing the number of files it copies (it's one of the options).

No special browser needed.

Have you maybe exceeded your bandwidth allocation, or maybe even disk space? If you have then that could possibly account for a 0 length file, depending on exactly how it fails.

Do you have a Samsung Galaxy S / Galaxy S II ? If so, why not check out my ScreenFree FM Radio .

It definitely is sounding like your web host is either overloaded, or they've put tight restrictions on usage. This means that the server could not keep the connection option to the database, because something else on the server decided to make it time-out.

The short answer is it seems your web host has major issues.

Just to check if my server has any issues I installed through Softaculous the following programs without any changes to its default folder used by Softaculous and without any error:
Joomla
modX
PHP-Nuke
CMS Made Simple
Then again OsPortal and still I got the same error.

After my host support looked into it they sent me this:

The errors are generated due to the modec user password being incorrect in the configuration for modsecparse.pl.

I can correct this for you, but I will need the mysql root user password. Can you please provide that password for me?

Now I can login just to get this welcome messages:

Critical error - bailing out

Could not connect to database-server (Access denied for user 'mysite_ocp371'@'localhost' (using password: YES), mysql_connect() [<a href='PHP: mysql_connect - Manual'>function.mysql-connect.php</a>]: Access denied for user 'gebinc_ocp371'@'localhost' (using password: YES))

Details here are intended only for the website/system-administrator, not for regular website users.
» If you are a regular website user, please let the website staff deal with this problem.

Depending on the error, and only if the website installation finished, you may need to edit the installation options (the info.php file).

ocProducts maintains full documentation for all procedures and tools. These may be found on the ocPortal website. If you are unable to easily solve this problem, we may be contacted from our website and can help resolve it for you.

As other install was successful, I would think there is nothing wrong with my server?

Do you have a cPanel account? It looks to me like the mysql user name and/or password could be wrong.

Maybe this can be helpful ….apologize for the poor sound quality. Brand new channel, first screen cast. I have it figured now and many more/much better videos are on the horizon.

Thank´s Brian, noting in your video that helps me as I already have the site installed but when I login, the message above is all I get and change info in info.php is of no help either.

As other scripts installed perfectly, I will search for other program where I can use the time crating the site but not on programming errors.

That is to bad.

I am sure it is not a programming error though, it is an error in the way it was installed.
