Side Panels

I have successfully put in a new private zone. :ninja: I have a choice of either having it wide (no side panels) or narrow.

Is it possible to have it so it only shows either the left or the right panels without having to show panels on both sides?? (I think some of your pages in this site do…)

Forget that - dumb qyestion (just leave the panel blank).

Instead, there is a 'links' option to jump to other sites (OCPortal, google and news are the options). How do I edit the links or change the destinations (in the networks drop down menu)??

Similarly, is it possible to add extra external links under the personal links (mt home, my profile etc)??

Hi,

How do I edit the links or change the destinations (in the networks drop down menu)??

The screen for editing this doesn't seem to be working quite right in the latest release. I've fixed that and the fix will be in the next patch release.
You can edit the links manually by downloading the text/netlink.txt file from your server and then uploading an edited version of it into the text_custom directory. Then when you go to the site hold down the ctrl+alt+shift keys together and click refresh in the browser.

Similarly, is it possible to add extra external links under the personal links (mt home, my profile etc)??

Yes - click 'Edit menu' underneath, and you'll find the menu editor can add new menu items, with custom URLs.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
