I updated today and discovered that clicking My Profile threw an error (filedump.ini missing).

It drilled down to the fact that at some time I'd tried the filedump add-on then removed it and I guess I'd left behind something that the update took to indicate I'd still got it installed.

Reinstalling the add-on sorts it but I absolutely do not want members to upload anywhere other than the downloads section.

Removing it again leaves the tab and when you click more... on the tabs page, it throws a page not found error (as expected).

What do I need to edit to remove the tab? & Is there something I can do to clean-up the site so that this doesn't happen again?

TQ

I think you installed the member_filedumps non-bundled addon, which depends on the bundled filedumps addon. Removing it should solve your issue.

It's files are:
  • sources_custom/hooks/modules/members/filedump.php
  • sources_custom/miniblocks/myfiles.php
  • sources_custom/hooks/systems/profiles_tabs/filedump.php
  • themes/default/templates_custom/OCF_MEMBER_PROFILE_FILEDUMP.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying Composr on fun personal projects.
