Hello,

I am running Apache 2.4.3 (Win64) PHP/5.5.6-Win64 and MySQL Server 5.6, and trying to install ocPortal 9.0.7 on a local machine.

On step 7 of the installation process I keep getting the following error"

"Unfortunately a query has failed [CREATE TABLE ocp_stats ( id integer unsigned auto_increment NOT NULL, the_page varchar(255) NOT NULL, ip varchar(40) NOT NULL, the_user integer NOT NULL, date_and_time integer unsigned NOT NULL, referer varchar(255) NOT NULL, get varchar(255) NOT NULL, post longtext NOT NULL, browser varchar(255) NOT NULL, milliseconds integer NOT NULL, operating_system varchar(255) NOT NULL, access_denied_counter integer NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (id) ) CHARACTER SET=latin1 engine=MyISAM;] [You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'get varchar(255) NOT NULL, post longtext NOT NULL, browser varchar(255) NO' at line 8]"

Anybody have any helpful information on this?

Ack, it looks like MySQL may have just made 'get' a keyword. We'll have to roll out a fix, but I have a feeling this is going to be an ugly hack for now.

  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Yes, I can confirm my suspicions. MySQL 5.6 added 'get' as a keyword, which until wasn't in any database software.

I am working on a fix now.

Install worked like a champ! Although, on the initial page of the install, it warns of files being modified, if you just ignore it and move on to the next part, everything is installed.
