You need to choose the parent forum for your newly created forums.

So where it says Parent, choose the forum you want it to be listed inside of.. and if you want it to go further, than just click the + sign.

Forum grouping
The forum grouping to place this forum under.
* Required field Parent
Parent
Category Forums
-> News
–>Site
—>Troubleshooting

So News is inside the main forum category.
Site is inside the news category.
Troubleshooting is inside the site category.

If there are additional categories available underneath a category then there will be a clickable 'plus' icon shown to the left of it. Choose your selection by clicking. Hold the ctrl key to expand all child categories also.

And as for who can see what… visibility or access to forums can be controlled with the Permissions menu in the same area.

Interesting, so this is accomplished using catagories as appposed to having several seperate forums within the parent forum?
I had been reading something about having many forums access the same database info, ie: log in info, user profile etc. So if it's done with catagories instead, then setting up seperate forums or installing more than one version of OCportal?

Not sure why you would need multiple versions of ocPortal. ocP already uses the database for quite a bit of information.

You are changing where you want the forum. In this case, it'll still be in the main forum area, usually called Forum home (I changed mine to just Forum). But if you want, you can create a completely different one. And then just select what your parent forum is when creating a new forum. So you'll have two completely seemingly separate looking forums. I'm pretty sure you can do this. I'm just not sure if you can change the colors so it looks like a completely different forum, as it's still using the same info from the css style sheet.
