Hi, I just did an install of ocp on my hosting but in a temporary directory as I'm still trying to come up with a good domain name that's not taken.
How hard or easy would it be to migrate from one install/directory to another? I realize there's a database and that things can't just be copied/moved from on directory to another.  Should I not do too much on this temporary installation. I did it just to get to know my way around and figure out how best to configure different types of content. Now I'm ready to make some catalogs but they're pretty time consuming and I don't want to have to do everything twice.

Thanks, John

I think I found it. XML data management
That will bring over all content?

Ah, no you don't want to do XML data management, it's a power feature that nobody really uses to be honest.

It's really easy to move a site. You just move the files/directories to the target directory, then edit obvious parts of info.php. A database is not located in any specific directory (from the point of view of ocPortal; MySQL stores DBs elsewhere), so no need to move anything regarding that.

Ok, I'm coming from wordpress and I know xml is used for that purpose with wp.

So if I currently have the installation in a folder called folder_01, I can just move everything inside folder_01 over to public_html (root directory) for the new domain?
