Looking for some pointers as to how this can be done in OCP.

So I have the requirement that every paid member on the forum has a unique membership number. I can see how to create custom profile fields and how to allow forum users to add themselves to a paid members group by buying that access.

What I need is to be able to assign a unique number to each new member and show that number in a custom profile field. So I am guessing that I will need some custom code to get the next unique number and then update the custom profile field for the new user somewhere during the membership purchase completion. Where would be the best place to store the next available membership number ? Any pointers as to where I can add the code ?

Now coming from a Raven Nuke plus bolt on subscription system means that I need to manually set the membership numbers and the expiry date of membership - is there a safe place in the database to set these ? The existing dates are set using time since 1970. Can I access the custom profile fields directly ? I am thinking of writing some standalone code to get the existing membership numbers and expiry dates in place.

Any help or pointers greatly appreciated.

No one had the need to support a membership number system with OCP ?
We send membership cards out with the number for discount purposes, including car insurance.

There is a CPF field type for random codes in v8
