Hi,

I'd advise doing a search on our forum, and/or checking the Advanced Galleries tutorial, as this has been discussed/documented in some depth already.
However the quick answer is:
  • grant access to the CMS zone
  • enable personal categories for the cms_galleries module
  • create a gallery that is set to container member galleries
  • point your members towards the 'Galleries' icon in the CMS zone, or give them a direct link.

  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

HOW CAN I enable personal categories for the cms_galleries module ?
You mean "Content Management" ?
Then "Galleries" … but if i add there a gallery, how can normal users create their own gallery?
mhh i read the tutorial… where can i give the permission for usergroups?

In the security 'tab' of the Admin Zone you'll find a 'Permission Tree Editor' icon. Using this you'll be able to expanding the Content Management zone and find the cms_galleries module listed. Clicking on it in the list will allow you to set that permission.
That sets the permission, but you still need to add a member gallery container (a gallery with the "Member synchronise" and "Accept images" options ticked).
Once that's all done, a member gets the option to auto-create their own gallery when they go to add an image.
