Is there a way to make a What's New page?  I know you can use the newsletter module / "Send out/schedule issue: New content" to email newly added content, but is there any way to pipe this to a page?  I sent out the newsletter just to "Administrators" and saved it to my hard drive, but when I opened it up it was marked up so much it would be a pain trying to sort it all out.  I was thinking I could email it to my self and then copy and paste it in to a page on my site, but lordy lordy what a mess.

This is basically what the main_activities block can do. You need to install the non-bundled Activities addon.

  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Oh, and will only kick in for "future" activities -- it has no record of ones up until it is installed.

Okay, guess I've not looked at the addon closely.  I already have it installed, guess I should take a look at what it does.  Am I too assume that this is viewed through one's profile?

It is, but the main_activities block can be place anywhere (not filtered to any one member).

Ah, I see it now.  Don't know how many times I've use the Block Assistant tool and it just never registered.  Guess I wasn't looking for it.  Cool.  Thank you.
