Is this the v6 Facebook addon you have installed? If so, try reinstalling it from what is in the v7 addon directory.

And was I supposed to uninstall all my plugins for v6? And reinstall them for v7?

What if you delete the files under sources_custom that the upgrader reports as alien (back them up first though).

I re-downloaded the Facebook addon which seems to have been edited Feb 2011.

I'm not sure if this is the version to use with v7.

But I am right back in with no error.

Unfortunately this didn't fix it. Same problems again.

Seems to be with the site.php file and the facebook_connect.php

And clearing the alien files had no effect.

The upgrader will tell you which files are 'alien' (from unofficial addons etc) - you should be able to delete them fairly easily. Then worry about reinstalling them again from the latest versions.

I know it's a pain, but at least with ocPortal most of the addons are standardised as a part of the distribution, and it's just some peripheral stuff that might get out of date.

Tried uploading the site.php file to the sources from the upgrade zip file. Can't gain access to the site unless logged in. No problems at all when I'm logged in. But as a Guest.. nothing and no where.

The error may imply sources/permissions.php is corrupt.

But when I say go to the upgrader, you don't need to login using any of the normal ocPortal infrastructure. Just go to /social/upgrader.php and log in with the master password. It is isolated from most of ocPortal, and you can use the integrity checker to see what files are alien and/or possibly corrupt.

I know I didn't need to login for the upgrader except for my admin / FTP info. I've removed all of those files though. Still error.

If those files were corrupt. I uploaded the sources files needed.

Same error.

I'll try running the upgrader again.

Same errors Chris. I'm out of ideas.

Even tried uploading the files from the raw folder.

I waited a week to upgrade for a reason – to avoid all of this. Not sure what I didn't do correctly.

Removed the Facebook plugin and still getting both errors.

If you file a bug report ticket with details so I can access your site to test changes (e.g. FTP), I'll take a look at it for you.

(details were sent)

Is the problem now gone?

I logged in with Facebook, saw some issues (probably due to the old version of the addon – but I provided ocP framework workarounds rather than upgrading the addon). I then upgraded the addon.
I haven't seen any errors since.

Other than my really slow internet connection at the moment, things seem to be working right now.

I tested the site both logged in and logged out as a Guest and everything seems to be working fine.

I saw that you were able to register. If you didn't encounter any problems other than what you've worked on, than I think you fixed it.

Thanks Chris.

Was it the Facebook addon that was causing the problems?

I had 'registered' via Facebook Connect. I just tested now with a normal ocPortal join and got an error which I've fixed (not a PHP error, another one - due to the issue I describe below).

(I think the Facebook addon probably was the problem yes.)

There's a problem that you uploaded all the upgrade files manually from the TAR, so now some addons are inconsistently installed. That's because the upgrader is smart enough to only extract files relating to addons that are there. If you do it manually you can get some files from addons not installed (the files we've changed recently) along with missing database data.
To resolve this you need to go to the addon management in the Admin Zone and remove everything you don't want again.

Ah I had gotten fed up and thought that would've fixed it. Guess not. Will go through my addons and remove what's not needed.
