Not sure if this is working as intended or not. When the "blog" param is set to '-1' or '0', the block is displayed in a box with the title. When the blog param is set to '1' (only blogs) there is no box or title. Seems like it should be consistent or, at least, offer the option for blogs only in a box.

Thanks for any help.

Bob

The reason is blog sites usually are a lot cleaner. You can change the template though.

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Thanks, Chris - I figured that might be the case. I am trying to give blogs some pre-eminence since they will only be posted by a group of vetted contributors (family and others who actually knew the man and art critics and historians).

I have a couple of options until I re-skin the site after I get it launched. I will just post news in a "news subforum" and display that on the front page using main_forum_news and not post using the "News" in Content Management. I can also rework the structure so that the blogs are in one column and the the other blocks are in the second column.

At any rate, I am enjoying using ocPortal.

thanks for your help and a great product,

Bob
