I have a stock ocPortal installed, and have found when I click on just about any link, Admin Zone, Content Management, or any forum, start page, it can take up to 2 minutes to load the page.
This is a clean install, no extras. I contacted my host, BlueHost, and there are no apparent problems, they can connect to pages in under 9ms. Well yeah they are sitting on the server LOL
Anyway it doesn't appear to be a server issue. I checked with my SP and I am getting max thro put from them to my server.
So why am I getting "waiting for 'server'" and up to 2 minute waits?
I have other forums running on Bluehost that are heavily modded and busy that do not have this issue.
Any thoughts, ideas?

You may want to post a free support ticket with FTP details so we can diagnose this. ocPortal server page generation times are more like 0.3 seconds.

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
