Another one from me :)

Because i have my personal facebook account (which i use the most) linked to a test member, i often have to log out of the test user account, and re log in using my site's facebook account credentials.

It often takes me 3 or 4 attempts clicking the "Log Out" button to actually log out of the test account.

I click log out, and either click the home button, or the link that is presented after logout (it says something like "go back to where you were/previous input"). When i click those links, i return to the sites main home page and i am still logged into the test user account. So i go through the same again, and again im not logged out. It usually takes 2 or 3 attempts, but sometimes more, before i am actually logged out.

This has been going on for as long as i've been using the facebook connect addon.

Log out from Facebook is problematic. You need to wait about 1 second on the logout screen after it's loaded because it's done via Javascript on there. I will see if we can make the Javascript call before the logout link loads up the logout page.

Also FB logout is a pain because you can't log out of a site in Facebook, the button takes you out of Facebook entirely. This is unavoidable, and trying to workaround it (which isn't possible without some serious hacking around) is against Facebook TOS (bizarre I know). It's also bizarre that the Facebook API would let individual sites log you out of your master Facebook account.

I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.

Fan in action

Yep, unless you do not mind, I recommend not signing into your ocPortal install as the main "root" admin via Facebook. If you want to test the feature create a user with limited perms and use this.

I have Facebook setup this way on one of my installs and have no problem afterwards promoting using Facebook and the main "root" ocPortal admin and not restricted to this user account logging in using Facebook. Or not singing in via Facebook at all and just know it does work for your guests.

Does this also account for why I have no "Activities" tab when logged in from my FB account, also as the admin of the site? I have many of the same problems as well.

Additionally, I also get a "href" error in th e'friends block as well. The number of FB friends that I have may be the problem here (many).

Activities tab is a non-bundled addon.

What's an "href error"? (screenshot may help)

thanks for the file Chris, will test it this evening.

Curtisbrew, i've got a feeling that the problem is with the facebook app itself rather than ocP. Did you create your own facebook app and get the app ID?

I created the Facebook ID and have the app credentials set up. I think the problem was when I was logged onto Facebook, and then created a different user while logged onto my FB account.

Normally, the  FB account is tied to my admin ID but it would up being transferred to another userid that I created. I've tried to unlink the FB user ID from the alternate ID created but am having problems trying to do this. Maybe what I am getting is a result in the FB IDs being passed to the wrong userID in OcPortal?
