Is there a link to download the latest RC for V4?

Would you recommend I install and test it or wait until the final release and do a conversion of my existing site?

Thanks

Hi,

Unless something unexpected creates a delay, v4-final will be out very soon now. I believe it will be days.

It never hurts to play around first though, and install is pretty quick and easy. I think you'll find v4 a lot smoother than v3 when it comes to the details, and particularly a lot of features have been overhauled to be more well-rounded.

To download v4, go to the download page (link in nav above), click the little go link for 'Download package', and look in the red 'Bleeding edge' box.

v4 Won't hold session in FF

Last question for today I promise!

Just uploaded and unwrapped v4rc5. Trying to edit Rules page in Firefox, when going to 'save', it logs me out.

Went to IE 7 and had no problem.

Is that a bug, or do I have an incorrect setting somewhere?

Thanks

I think I've noticed your IP address jumping around on this site a bit (when that happens you see a user as online twice).

I think the IE7/Firefox thing is a coincidence and this'll be the problem.

There's an option in the configuration to turn down the session security. It's in the security options, under General, and is called 'Enforce IP addresses for sessions'.

Ah that was exactly the fix.

I'm currently on a business trip so all my internetting is being done through the hotel's connection, so I guess that's causing my IP fluctuations.

Thanks again and it's really awesome looking script you have here.

Still losing session in FF (update)

What's happening now is that it will hold a session for a few minutes, then (so far this is when doing tasks in the admin zone), it will lose the session and log me out. It appears that disabling sessions helped, but didn't quite clear the problem entirely. Prior to this (with session enabled), it was continuous.

The other problem I has was when adding an RSS block to the main page…after executing the add-in, it returned a fairly large page of errors. (Edit -) noticed the "interlock false" closing at bottom of comcode edit window for central page was missing. Added this, then resubmitted the 'add RSS/Atom block' and error returned was -

XML error when parsing RSS/Atom stream: not well-formed (invalid token) at line 24

If you think there are any other settings I could adjust to cure these, let me know, or if it helps towards the development.

Thanks

(Edit) - One more. This occurs only in FF when using Admin >Configuration >then select an area from list to make modifications in, then save -
