How do you turn them 'on' like they are here?   Went through config but couldn't find it.

Thanks

Admin Zone Setup Configuration Feature options Replace rating with 'lkes'[sic] - (If you want to have simple like/dislike buttons instead of asking users to use a ratings scale.)

… should get you there!

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

Hmm, I don't have the option "Replace rating with…" in Feature Options…

I was referring to version 9.0.1, but I suspect you are using an 8.x.x version. This is where you'll find it for the latter:

Admin Zone Setup Configuration Site options General Replace rating with 'lkes'[sic] - (penultimate entry, just above 'Time zone').

Sorry about that. I think we're all getting confused with the ongoing 8.x.x series and the new 9.x.x ones that have just started.

Ah, I was running 9, and just upgraded to 9.0.1.  Will go back in and see if it is there now.

Strange, just found it in the 8.x.x version location (under site options->general)… but am running 9.0.1.

Ah, usually we don't move config options about during upgrades – it's already stuck in the database where they are and we don't write code to move them. I think that will change with v10 when that is out (a long time), as the intention is to change how these work.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

@Chris, seems strange just because now 9.0.1 is going to be 'different' depending if you started with 9 or 7.

@Harry, no, I have upgraded 7 to 8 to 9, so mine is in site options -> general.
