On the license page it says that if you buy the lifetime registration then you can only get upgrades for 1 year. Does that mean that after the first year then if I wanted to use a more updated version available to download here on ocPortal then I'd have to buy a new lifetime registration license to get rid of the ads?

Yes, except for patch versions which are dated according to the release they're patching.

Sounds right but Umm I have a lifetime license and can download all patches. Umm and even when I am logged out I can download the latest version.

I run http://otakuplayground.com and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.

Thanks for clearing that up Chris. Do you release any figures for the enterprise edition (upgrades: as paid for) or is it on case by case basis?

(There's a difference between being able to download anything, and having it run as registered with an 'old' key)

The Enterprise 'version' is sold as part of a service, and typically we'd decide what actual extra features to deploy for a client depending on their needs. The quote would depend on the client needs, and we don't really consider the value of the software itself as a part of that (it's about the value of the end result, not the method we use to reach it). We may be discontinuing this in the future, as we aren't currently taking on new clients.

Confusing but I guess you have a point.
