Userpics and Usernames are too long?

Hi,
I just converted from SMF 2.0 RC3 to OCP (via PHPBB3) and got a small, yet annoying problem with my site.
Some of the usernames are too long and "hang" over the other text (subject e.g.) as well as the Userpic does.
One example is " View topic: TEST - Alphaclan"

Is there some solution to this i did not yet find on this page or the FAQ?

Thanks in advance

Reduce the size of your Avatars ...

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

One of the templates has a 'col' tag that sets the width of the left-most column. You can change that.

The first width is in the OCF_FORUM_TOPIC_WRAPPER template.

The second is in the CSS.  You can identify it using Firebug's inspect tool.

Other members may have time to provide greater detail.

This was a tough one to track down but here it is…

The first width is in the OCF_FORUM_TOPIC_WRAPPER template.
The template is actually OCF_TOPIC_WRAP.tpl

If you are still needing to modify the width of the forum column - Go to:

ADMIN ZONE > STYLE > MANAGE THEMES > YOUR THEMES > EDIT TEMPLATES > OCF_TOPIC_WRAP.tpl

Find in the line with "<col width="130" />" - this is what to modify to your desired width.

I did not see any CSS to modify as it all seems to be controled by this template width definition.

Thank you very much - this is some beginning.
Still i wonder why the files arent resized properly. The Avatar here and on my site are uploaded from the same file (3000something to 2000something in original) - yet here it is resized to the forum, over there not.
Same with the names - i wonder why these ca be too long.

That has to do with the settings you have on your site, ie, you can set it to resize avatars to a certain size on your site.

For example, you can effect the pannel widths here…

Admin Zone > Set Up> Configuration > Theme Options

Panel Width is what you are looking for. Increase that number a little at a time to find one that works for you.

Your avatars width and height you can set you Security > Usergroups > and edit your usergroups. You can actually set different sizes for different usergroups if you wanted to.

ocPortal is large. There are tons of options and such. But that's what I love about it :). BTW - make good use of the amdin zone search feature. It works. (tm)

OK, after i had to reinstall the portal i am now back at the beginning and found out what you just told me *G*

I thought, so far, that avatar sizes would have been regulated at one place for everyone, but it is done in the usergroups. The problem here is, that i took over a phpbb3 database (converted from smf 2 rc3) which gave users the ability to choose avatars with 150x100. Now that i edited that it works. Still the usernames overlap the title..
Anyway, thanks for your searching guys - you all were a great help :0)

The overlapping username is because the name is too long for the column size.

If you change this…

Admin Zone > Set Up> Configuration > Theme Options > Panel Wiidth (both of them)

to a larger size until you fi the column length, and/or decrease their username size, that should solve your issue. For example, I had a similar issue, though no user names as long as yours, and that is how I solved it on my site.

Best of luck!
