Is it possible to turn <kdb> generation off.

Is it possible to turn the generation of the    kbd    /kbd    tags off during the making of a comcode page whenever a block of text is encased between two [] tags such as the box tag?

What are the kbd tags for besides creating a highlight of the text in the edit window?

The kbd tag is a phrase tag which defines Keyboard input. I imagine it is there for a reason, possibly relating to the Comcode itself. Not sure why you have a problem with it as it's standard HTML markup.

Most of the time its not a problem, was just needing to do some direct editing of the page source and there was a lot of kbd tags cluttering up the code.

Yeah, I can understand that. There was a bug once where everytime you saved the page the kbd tags repeated. That would have drove you to insanity :P

Hi,

Sorry, there's no way to do that, and it's not a route we're planning to be going down. In v10 the integration between CKEditor and Comcode will be deeper, meaning more exotic Comcode-specific markup will be in the editor – which may make things better or worse for hand-editing, depending on the circumstance, but is being done to make the WYSIWYG experience better.

I recommend just turning WYSIWYG off temporarily. Then you can edit it all in the purest/rawest form.

I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.

Oh actually I can give a little advice.

You can use /data/comcode_convert.php to manually force some conversions. That script is getting a bit better in v10, better usability, more control. It's like a little Comcode-management console.
