Well-settled

I get to mysite.com/dir/index.php....

Then I get this message:

Critical error – bailing out

This is an error that has been elevated to critical error status because it occurred during the primary error mechanism reporting system itself (possibly due to it occuring within the standard output framework). It may be masking a secondary error that occurred before this, but was never output - if so, it is likely strongly related to this one, thus fixing this will fix the other.
Query failed: SELECT s.*,m.m_primary_group FROM oc_sessions s LEFT JOIN oc_f_members m ON m.id=s.the_user : Query execution was interrupted (version: 9.0.6, PHP version: 5.3.22, URL: /dir/index.php)
Details here are intended only for the website/system-administrator, not for regular website users.

Where do I go to start fixing this?  Hints/helps are excepted happily!!!

I think it is an ocportal issue... just cause I get to my installation... then a querry fails.

How many rows are there in the oc_sessions table? (check with phpMyAdmin)

If it's a large number (more than 100), try clearing it, although you shouldn't need to. Emptying this table is safe.

It's a small number, talk to the web host.

Either way, I'm interested. This shouldn't happen. My instinct is definitely to point to the host.

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Hi Chris,
So I have two installs of ocportal one in use the other I need to unistall (by the way can I do that with cpanel file manager or do I have to do it through ftp client?)

Anyways oc_sessions tables rows equals "0" in my installed version.

I am contacting my webhost….

So my host says : "It seems there was a minor network issue occurring at our data center. The issue has been resolved and all services have been restored normally. "

So Don't know….  it is working now though.

When on shared servers don't pointers, vars, links know where the database tables are? And php or querries should generate some kinda error that reports "can't find var at requested location".

Thx.
For your insight Chris as always…..
