Hello All,

I've hunted through everything and the missing piece of the puzzle seems to be the IPN where Paypal sends back it's acceptance to payment.

I've looked through all the set-up pages and  directories etc and can not see anything obvious.

All the documentation teezes me with the fact it works, but how ?

Many Thanks

Nigel.

I think I was a dummy on this. It's a bit confusing understanding the flow here and the flow described on Paypal.

I think I have it working but unfortunately the sandbox mode only seems to work in "admin" mode.

Hi Nigel,

It's data/ecommerce.php. However, I don't understand why this is something you would want to know, as we're talking about the insides of ocPortal, not something that you should need to know. If you're looking to make a usergroup subscribable via PayPal, ocPortal should handle this all for you automatically. If some other eCommerce action is desired it would be a programming task.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Chris,

Thanks for the reply. I discovered it was something I did NOT need to know! I was confused by the flow and when on the Paypal site they wanted a hard coded URL.

Another piece of software I've used needed that, OCportal doesn't.
