Yes, but plus a team of developers.

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Hi,

To be honest it's really not a simple thing. No out-of-the-box free software is going to do such a niche commercially-orientated thing, so you'd essentially be getting a team to program all that functionality.

I don't know where TV listings would come from TBH. There may be some common API for this in the US (assuming that's where you're basing it), or it might all be highly sensitive and proprietary, or something in-between.

Anyway, what I was trying to convey in my first post (which was far too brief, sorry I was rushing) is that this really is a major programming project, not something that can be just configured or done with a few lines of code. Companies would likely pay enormous sums for these kinds of sites to be developed (similar sums of money to TV program commissioning costs).
